What is a Cross-Connection Control Survey?
A Cross-Connection Control Survey (CCC Survey) is a thorough, room-by-room audit of a facility's entire water piping network. Conducted by an OWWA-certified Cross-Connection Control Specialist, the survey identifies all points where potable drinking water lines connect with non-potable liquids, chemicals, or process equipment.
Under municipal bylaws—such as Peel Region By-law 10-2017, Toronto Code Chapter 851, and York Region By-law 2021-44—property owners are legally required to complete and submit an updated Cross-Connection Survey report every 5 years or whenever major plumbing alterations occur.
